Accomplishments

Fall 2017-March 2018 Izmir, Turkey

September 2017:

Agreed to sponsor a Football (Soccer) Team in Ghana, after several emal conversations with the team coach;

Searched and designed new uniforms (kit) for the team.

October 2017:

With friends, and acquaintances from past to present, worked with customs to ship from Izmir to Accra, Ghana the 21 kit sets to the club team in the Accra, Ghana area. 

Process: Vendor; Designed shirt front/back, designed short-all with BARRYBALL trademark and logo.

November 2017:

Customs receiving into Turkey; Visit to meet Ghanaian Consulate General in Ankara, Turkey;

Completed shipping kit sets after re-packing to the team, which received the uniforms first week in March 2018.

October 2017 Izmir, Turkey

Short-term teacher-cover as English Skills Teacher at Ugur Koleji (private national school curriculum), for English and Physical Science lessons.

 

2016 2017 SY Egypt, Cairo

-Mentored and supervised student teacher for their coursework.

 

2016- + Istanbul & Cairo

-Continuous exploring 21st-century tech fitness, assessment, tracking mechanisms, conditioning machines for reliable/valid, purpose, virtual reality goggles, viewing screens, using the relevant software.

-On-going coursework online, increasing involvement with purpose, productivity, and possibilities for future educational growth, expanding personal knowledge and understanding.

 

2015-2016 Egypt, West Campus Cairo, Egypt

-Initiated and proposed entire school into a 4 House Team system with over 1250 students.

-Increased student engagement/active participation in physical education classes. Increased use of 2 school pools for lower school, and upper school.

-Chief Education Consultant of the ESOL organization contact, responded to my request for a walk-through on campus, with the following results:

-Built 4 new changing rooms, storage configuration in at least 5 separated rooms with proper heavy-duty shelving, and new weight room.

-New equipment ordered is still expected from the approved intentions, through an email confirmation.

Curriculum writer, and the coordination of it school-wide, in the PE department.

-Coach secondary school boy’s basketball teams, increasing interest in basketball.

-Participation in 2 local tournaments. (possible international travel 2016 17SY team)

2015-present

-Further professional writing explored about decision-making process outcomes, conflict resolution for results, positive behavior (Cairo, Egypt) as a progressive process.

-Developing ideas, such as, "PACE (Patience, Attention, Commitment, in Education) Theory" to practice principles.

 

2014-2015 Ningbo, China

-Initiated all-school athletic/sports program attended meetings represented the school, within the ACAMIS (Association of China and Mongolian International Schools), in China. Attended the annual national meeting for ACAMIS Sports League, for participation and schedule construction for the following year.

-Sports program developed from a local to semi-local matches/tournament of 3 random participating teams, to a program with more than 10 scheduled practice teams, with 6 national participating sports. 

-Teams consisted of boy’s cross country running, girls and boy’s volleyball, girls and boys table tennis, girls and boy’s badminton, boy’s basketball, and girls and boy’s football/soccer teams.

-Four teams who participated at national (ACAMIS) sports tournaments, in the ACAMIS Sports League, around China.

-Expansion of sports was questionable, as enrollment decreased below expectations for school, at the time.

-The Curriculum is written, with school sports program for eventual re-accreditation.

-Developed relationships with professional and semi-professional national (China) basketball contacts.

2013 Presented published an article at World Congress of ICHPER-SD (International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance. Istanbul, Turkey.

Title: A collection of studies on personality, investigating connections of decision-making, and sport.

-ICHPER-SD Certified Fitness for new ICHPER-SD Fitness items, data collector/submit for developing norms.

 

2012 BARRYBALL TM (Trademark/Patent for US & Turkey)

-Barryball is a game, copyright 1990 and the name BARRYBALL established Trademark, 2012.

-The philosophy has been developing and continues to develop over the years to include positive social communication skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork while fostering a variety of physical skills in action. The game itself encourages the previous mentioned, along with certain rules that can be altered to suit surface, ball types, and playing space. The game has been planned, organized and implemented in a variety of international school settings, during Physical Education class. The philosophy has been incorporated into both teaching and coaching environments.

 

2011 Attended, facilitated presentations at World Congress of ICHPER-SD Cairo, Egypt.

-Established long relationships/friendships with primary congress organizers, and international contacts.

 

2009-2014 Istanbul, Turkey

-By 2013-2014 both National School and International School Divisions shared sports teams practices, combining both girls and boys volleyball teams at the Middle and High School levels.

-Revised annual Sports Day using all campus facilities.

-Initiated a school team/athletic program Primary through High School, coaching a variety of sports, 4 levels of basketball, coordinated 2 administrations (international to national school) cultural understanding.

-Initiated Primary School sports program.

-Placed first place in basketball, table tennis, and Football/Soccer in the sports league initiated school-wide fitness coordinating with the ICHPER-SD contact fitness data collector to establish international norms long-term.

-Wrote entire secondary school PE Curriculum.

-Developed further national basketball sports club contacts/relationships in Istanbul.

-Reviewed/revised for instructional purpose 3Cs:

Commitment, Concentration, Consistency Theory development.

-Established initiated an annual sports award ceremony for sports participants after the third year, for three years.

-From 2010 a sports program of 11 sports categories in 4 sports: football/soccer, table tennis, basketball, volleyball; to over 30 categories in 8 sports/activities including previous sports with badminton, swimming, chess, cross country running, and a Chess School Team by 2015, all for both girls and boy’s teams.

-2 accreditation organization process facilitation, coordinating for Health and Safety committee, Physical Education, and School sports program.

New signage/directions in Turkish and in English, for health and safety rules, use of space, rooms, and equipment.

 

2010 Istanbul, Turkey

-IGCSE PE Certified Coursework Assessor

 

2008 Istanbul, Turkey

-I proposed several University-level coursework syllabi, basketball team development-physical conditioning plans, which would have assisted the University athletic director, for the basketball/sports programs, with a sports management focus, as an instructor-at-large, or adjunct instructor.

-Some of these courses were intended for those already in the sports management field, nationally.

-These courses were for mobile instruction by way of international workshops, using web/online sources, and an international scope and sequence.

 

Fall 2008: For MEF International School prior to official contract signing

-Negotiated between the National School and the International School sharing the same campus, to a mutual decision that the Physical Education teachers/respective departments, work with one-another for scheduling weekly, monthly, and eventually annual campus facilities sharing for a comprehensive partnership. This followed the international school mission statement, of "Building Bridges..."

  

2006-2008 Seoul, Korea

-Initiated new curriculum K-5 program, ES boy’s basketball coach, initiated all-school fitness item program, assisted in purchasing new equipment for the new campus of the school. Curriculum writer.

-Initiated 3Ps:

Purpose, Productive, Possibilities Theory development.

-Began a Global Thinking Theory development.

-Head of PE Department.

-Facilitated PE communication for accreditation.

 

2004 Charleston, SC

-JV Boys Basketball Coach. First Place in a Holiday Tournament.

 

2003-2006 CCPS (Charleston County Public Schools)

-2 public schools K-6 physical education teacher initiated separate sports days, established fitness items for appropriate screening of all students.

-Monitored and supervised 16+ Physical Education pre-professionals, coordinating with an Education Department instructor from the local University.

 

2001-2003 Yokohama, Japan

-Successful attained full grant from General Motors Japan, for first renovation/replacement of major basketball mechanisms in (St. Maur) school gymnasium, initiated full-school fitness items for screening every student, coached girls and boy’s basketball teams, girls first place in Kobe, Japan hosted league tournament.

-Established business relationships with General Motors of Japan.

-Assisted local sales-businessman to become the purchasing agent for international customs of a US sports equipment company.

-Re-focused school sports program for increasing participation and for appropriations/budget.

-Co-Hosted Junior Varsity Kanto Plains Conference of Japan, sports teams tournaments for Cross Country, Boys and Girls Basketball, with a nearby international school.

-Athletic Director and facilitated/wrote the school PE/Sports communication for accreditation.

 

1998-2001 Izmir, Turkey

-Revised an original design for a new PE/Sport facilities (Shepard Sport Hall) on ACI, Izmir school campus, by modifying the floor specifications for new multi-purpose weight/conditioning rooms, squash court usage, changing rooms, storage rooms, a large open gallery space to use for PE and Sport sessions/teams.

-Planned, organized, and controlled prior to and followed-up after the Annual Sister-School Sports Festival host-Izmir, Spring 2001.

-Boys Basketball Coach Middle School team Izmir, Finals.

-Boys Basketball Coach High School team: First Place, Annual Sister-School Sports Festival Host-Tarsus, Turkey, Spring 2000.

-Re-Hired at same 2 private K-8 level schools (1984-1986); revised plan, re-organized to revised parent nights for each school on separate dates. These once again highlighted the curriculums for each school. 

-During the two times at these two private k-8 level schools, filmed, produced, edited using public cable access studios, 2 separate music videos to show at parents night(s), tumbling gymnastics unit lessons. These two respective music videos, involved the entire student enrollment, synced with music for a final presentation.

 

1986-1987 Athens, Greece

-EMAC (Eastern Med. Athletic Conference) School Track and Field Coach 1 of 2. Field, Hurdle & Relay Team coach, in Cairo, Egypt.

-First Girls School Team Football/Soccer Coach.

-First Girls School Team Football/Soccer coach International tournament (ISST-International School Sports Tournament) to Dusseldorf, Germany.

-Third Place of 5 Teams at ISST Tournament 1986.

 

1984 Minneapolis, MN USA

-VHS/BETA Video Curriculums at 2 private K-8 level schools; planned, organized 2 separate parent nights, for the entire programs for eventual school K-8 PE curriculum.

-Produced and narrated in public access cable television studio after professional team recorded at 2 separate events. Edited, written and final product presented to 2 schools with Dynamic Physical Education by Dr. R. Prangrazi of Arizona, USA.

-Introduced intrinsic and extrinsic fitness Presidential Fitness and Physical Best Fitness programs simultaneously at both schools.

-Wrote proposed grant possibility for 1 of 2 school gymnasium renovation projects.

-Baseball coach.

 

1980-82 Edina, MN USA

-JV Football/Soccer team coach won versus school Varsity team then lost 6 of 15 players to varsity as result.

-Football/Soccer Season record 4-4.

-Junior High Track and Field Head Coach: Second place district/region meet by several points.

-Junior High Track and Field Assistant Coach: First place district/region meet.

 

-Student coached "Sophomore" Boys Basketball team, finishing undefeated for the season.
